Neck Pain

Our neck is easily affected by traumas such as minor dash or major accidents in daily life.
The second most common regional pain syndrome after low back pain is neck and arm pain. Classically, one out of every three people suffers from this pain once in their lifetime.

Neck hernia, which is one of the most common causes of neck pain, has been reported most frequently as C5-6 and C6-7 levels.

Neck Pain

There are generally 3 reasons for neck pain from spine.

  • Trauma-related injuries of the spine and surrounding soft tissues,
  • Neck osteoarthritis due to the wear of the spine over time and with strain


Neck Pain Noninclusice Cervical Spine

Some pains there are not caused by the spine but are felt around the neck. To these pains that compress the muscles and nerves coming out of the thorax are called “thoracic outlet syndromes = T.O.S”. The reason that compresses the muscles or nerves coming out of the rib cage may be one of the following 3 reasons.

  • Fusion of cervical spine and 1st rib, presence of cervical extra rib
  • Syndrome of compression of the “Skalenus Antikus” muscle.
  • Impingement syndrome of the pectoralis minor muscle


Pain Referred On Neck

Although the cause is not for the neck, the place where the pain is felt may be the neck. We call this referred pain. These;

  • Stress-Related Neck Pain
  • Muscle With Pains; Shoulder rotator cuff diseases
  • Posture Disorders; Poor posture
  • Vascular causes
  • Eye diseases
  • Rheumatic diseases
